Music Heard from My Friend's House
The music you hear coming from My Friend’s House can be attributed to the nationally acclaimed program, Guitars Not Guns. www.guitarsnotguns.org
Sponsored by Gibson Guitars, for over two months the residents of My Friend’s House have been involved in learning to play guitar in a program that emphasizes alternatives to violence. “We may not put clothes on their backs or food in their stomachs, but what we give our students is something that is good for the soul, and it can last a lifetime. If you have some spare time or a spare room to invite a foster kid into your home, you’ll be glad you did,” said Ray Nelson, founder of Guitars Not Guns.
By promoting positive alternatives, such as playing guitar, the Gibson Foundation in conjunction with Guitars Not Guns, strives to broaden the base of assisting foster and at risk children across the country. Click here to see pictures... |
